Today’s Olympic Google Doodle allows you to play the game of football, by assigning you the role of a goalkeeper. Unlike the Canoe that surely had bad controls, this is surely the most interesting Doodle game till date. The objective of the game is very simple. A player will attempt to score goals by kicking a random ball out of the 5 that are present on the field. Your aim should be to save as many as you can. For every save you will receive a point. The game will continue as long as the kick taker manages to score three goals.

The controls for the Doodle is extremely simple where you have the right left arrow keys to move the goalkeeper and you need to time the spacebar to make a save. Now remember that there are two kinds of shots. Firstly, you will see balls flying towards you for which you need to hit the spacebar at the correct time. Also, there are ground shots for which hitting the space will actually cause a goal and in this case you need to move your player towards the ball. Soon after a few saves the game becomes more difficult and faster thereby putting your reflexes to challenge. You could see the words Google cramped on either side of the goal post. I managed to score 23 and once you end the game you will be rated based on 3 starts. You also have the option for searching the keyword “Football Olympics” and the ability to replay the game or share your score in Google+. I think after the hurdles doodle this one ranks second.
