Google Doodle Celebrates Olympic Closing Ceremony

Google really influenced the World Wide Web with their series of Olympic Doodles for the last few days. While some of them were simple images representing a sports theme others were full-fledged games. Today’s Doodle features the closing ceremony of the grand Olympic Games in London. The games itself has been a huge success both in terms of publicity and performance. Recently BBC posted a report of their record breaking 29 million pageviews during this event. As we approach the end of this emphatic journey today’s picture on Google’s homepage explains it all.

Closing Ceremony Doodle

Dominated by a green background the image shows athletes representing different sports. Some of them were already featured in previous Doodles like the archery and fencing. In the middle you will find a parade of people celebrating and the entire picture is filled with ribbons, streamers etc. Upon clicking the image you will be presented with the search term for London 2012 Closing Ceremony where you can see the final medals chart on the left hand side. This is a perfect representation of ending the 2 weeks Olympic event.
